4 PILLARS OF TRUTH PILLAR #2 OUR POWER!

4 PILLARS OF TRUTH
PILLAR #2
OUR POWER!

If we are fortunate enough to have escaped the power of denial which has kept us anchored or chained to our addictions, the first thing we are told in step 1 of AA is that we are powerless. Which is absolutely true if you’re not a Christian! But it is absolutely false if we are Christians! This statement is pure heresy in a Christian Church or a Christian addiction recovery program, and should never be allowed!
“GOD” says ...…“WE ARE NOT POWERLESS“! Beginning with, and throughout scripture, we find verse after verse to the contrary of the message found in AA, or any 12-step program!

Again, don’t listen to the world’s lies. To tell a born again Christian that he or she is “powerless”, (step #1 in any 12-step program), is pure heresy in the church. And today, there are thousands of churches around the country and beyond, that are guilty of this heresy! If you are using one of these 12-step programs, that begins with teaching a born again believer filled with the Holy Spirit that he or she is “powerless”, you need to re-evaluate your program. Or simply explain to them that they were only powerless before surrendering their lives to Christ.

A MESSAGE TO CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Assuming that each and everyone reading this is a Born Again and Saved Christian, being a Born Again and Saved Christian in an addiction recovery meeting, means that you are one of the very fortunate few who have been rescued from drowning in the deep, dark, deadly, cold and murky waters of the sea of addictions! And it also means that you know that there is only One True Living God, Jesus Christ, who set you free from your addictions. We should never need to be reminded that there are still millions more desperate, less fortunate alcoholics and addicts left behind who are reaching out for someone’s help! As Born Again and Saved Christians, we are all called to be “fishers of men”, Matthew 4:19 (KJV)and he saith unto them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”, and we are also told in Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) to,  “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” As Saved and Sober, Born Again Christians, we are all called to serve God, and we need to be sharing Gods Truth with others who are now sitting on the same bar stools we once sat on!

This message is for those who are feeling God calling them to serve Him in a ministry in The Spirit of Matthew 4:19 (KJV), and Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)to reach out and rescue the millions of lost souls still drowning in the sea of addictions. Good fishermen know the fish, know the waters, and know what bait to use! To be a successful “fisher of men” we must know no less! Recovered alcoholics and addicts know the fish, know the waters, and know the bait better than anyone else! The dark, murky waters of AA meetings around the world are overflowing with lost souls struggling with addictions. They are being misled into believing in Step 3 that an undefined, imaginary, false “God of their own understanding”, without the power to answer their prayers, can deliver them from their  drunkenness and into Salvation! As Christians, we know this to be pure heresy, and as “fishers of men,” it should be our top priority and mission to share The Truth with our lost brothers and sisters struggling with the same addictions God has delivered us from! No matter whether they’re sitting on a bar stool, or in an AA meeting, or in a Church pew, we need to reach out to them with Gods Truth! They may reject us, or even spit in our face, just as they did to Jesus, but we are called to follow Jesus! Matthew 16:24 (KJV), then said Jesus unto his disciples, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” He also told us in, John 14:15 (KJV)  “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Please join me in my “fishing expedition” to reach out into the deep, dark, deadly, cold and murky waters of the sea of addictions, into the dark, smoke filled rooms of AA, and any of the many other places where alcoholics and addicts can be found. Whether across the street at your neighbors home, downtown at your place of employment, or across town at the shopping mall, or at our homeless shelters and jails and prisons, the world is teeming with millions of lost souls suffering with addictions who need to hear Gods Truth from someone who’s “been there, done that,” someone that they can relate to and trust. Someone just like you and I who’ve spent years under the influence of drugs and alcohol before we asked The Only One True Living God of The Bible, Jesus Christ, to set us free, and we became “free indeed”!

If you’re ready to move forward in your recovery, and answer Gods call for your service, I have written a new book titled Step 3 Addiction Recovery that was written specifically to help you in reaching others for Christ! It speaks to the hearts of the lost souls who have been mislead in Step 3 to believe that there is more than one God to choose from to deliver them from their addictions. It shows them how they will continue to relapse over and over again until they choose Jesus Christ as their Savior, who can “set them free” from the bondage of their addictions. As Christians involved in addiction recovery, we know that this one simple Truth will lead them to sobriety and Salvation!

Step 3 Addiction Recovery is a tool that every good “fisher of men”  should keep in their tackle box, next to their Bible, and use and share often!

May we continue to work together serving The Lord, while sharing His Love with the lost, anxiously waiting to hear His Words in, Matthew 25:21 (KJV) His lord said unto him, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

Amen

THE FOUNDATION OF ADDICTION RECOVERY

The 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous has been the foundation of all addiction recovery programs around the world for nearly 7 decades! It attracts millions of loyal members to meetings in every city and town everyday. While millions of alcoholics and addicts have found sobriety in its meetings, millions more spend years and years relapsing over and over again, until they either quit and give up, or die, or become so depressed or unhealthy they wish they would, and many commit suicide! Many more end up homeless or in prisons or in other institutions with mental health issues.

It is this author’s opinion, and has been for the past 32 years that I’ve been clean and sober, that the millions of alcoholics and addicts who fail the program, do so because of a very dangerous, even fatal flaw in the last part of Step 3! The first part is absolutely correct in stating that "we must turn our wills and lives over to the care of God", but not to a "god of our understanding"! AA, while professing to the world that they are of a Christian background or foundation, (The Oxford Group), and then suggesting in step 3 that there are many gods to choose from, is pure heresy! Even the least experienced atheist knows what God says about His  Sovereignty, Exodus 20:3 (KJV) Thou shalt have no other gods before me. It is well known throughout the AA community that most of its members who fail the program, do so in step 3. They even refer to its commonality as the 1-2-3-step-relapse dance!

Until AA addresses this issue, and leads its members to The truth that there is “but One God,” to turn their lives and wills over to, there will continue to be millions of alcoholics and addicts who finally conquer their battle with denial, only to be led astray when they arrive at a 12 step meeting or program, and led to believe that an undefined, imaginary, powerless “god of their understanding” will answer their prayers and deliver them from their addictions!

Until AA does decide to address this issue, assuming that someday they might, it is going to be my mission to do all I can do to share God’s Truth with those who are not getting it in AA meetings. As a Christian, delivered from my sin and addictions 32 years ago only by God’s Love, according to His Word, by Grace Alone, through Faith Alone, and in Christ Alone, I feel God’s calling to “be a fisher of man” and to “follow” and “obey” Him !

There are many members of AA who claim to be Christians. If you are one of them, than you should know that Gods Word does not support the idea that a man can make up “a god of his own understanding”, but that there is only “ONE GOD,” and that any attempt to follow any other imaginary, false gods will be in vain! There are no other “gods” who can answer prayer and perform the miracles that are necessary to “set free”  alcoholics and addicts from their addictions! If you are one of the many Christians attending AA meetings, you are instructed by God in   Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) to, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” And in Matthew 16:24 (KJV), then said Jesus unto his disciples, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” And in John 14:15 (KJV)  “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” These simple instructions should leave little doubt about what God would have us do when confronted with those sitting next to us in a meeting who do not know which direction to turn when they reach Step 3!

Good fishermen know the fish, know the waters, and know what bait to use! To be a successful “fisher of men” we must know no less! Recovered alcoholics and addicts should know the fish, know the waters, and know the bait better than anyone else! Most recovered alcoholics and addicts should recognize the dark, murky waters of AA meetings that are overflowing with alcoholics and addicts and lost souls struggling with addictions. A recovered Christian sitting in an AA meeting should recognize the unique position God has placed them in to reach out to one of those lost souls with The Truth that “set you free”!
