A MESSAGE TO CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Assuming that each and everyone reading this is a Born Again and Saved Christian, being a Born Again and Saved Christian in an addiction recovery meeting, means that you are one of the very fortunate few who have been rescued from drowning in the deep, dark, deadly, cold and murky waters of the sea of addictions! And it also means that you know that there is only One True Living God, Jesus Christ, who set you free from your addictions. We should never need to be reminded that there are still millions more desperate, less fortunate alcoholics and addicts left behind who are reaching out for someone’s help! As Born Again and Saved Christians, we are all called to be “fishers of men”, Matthew 4:19 (KJV)and he saith unto them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”, and we are also told in Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) to,  “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” As Saved and Sober, Born Again Christians, we are all called to serve God, and we need to be sharing Gods Truth with others who are now sitting on the same bar stools we once sat on!

This message is for those who are feeling God calling them to serve Him in a ministry in The Spirit of Matthew 4:19 (KJV), and Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)to reach out and rescue the millions of lost souls still drowning in the sea of addictions. Good fishermen know the fish, know the waters, and know what bait to use! To be a successful “fisher of men” we must know no less! Recovered alcoholics and addicts know the fish, know the waters, and know the bait better than anyone else! The dark, murky waters of AA meetings around the world are overflowing with lost souls struggling with addictions. They are being misled into believing in Step 3 that an undefined, imaginary, false “God of their own understanding”, without the power to answer their prayers, can deliver them from their  drunkenness and into Salvation! As Christians, we know this to be pure heresy, and as “fishers of men,” it should be our top priority and mission to share The Truth with our lost brothers and sisters struggling with the same addictions God has delivered us from! No matter whether they’re sitting on a bar stool, or in an AA meeting, or in a Church pew, we need to reach out to them with Gods Truth! They may reject us, or even spit in our face, just as they did to Jesus, but we are called to follow Jesus! Matthew 16:24 (KJV), then said Jesus unto his disciples, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” He also told us in, John 14:15 (KJV)  “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Please join me in my “fishing expedition” to reach out into the deep, dark, deadly, cold and murky waters of the sea of addictions, into the dark, smoke filled rooms of AA, and any of the many other places where alcoholics and addicts can be found. Whether across the street at your neighbors home, downtown at your place of employment, or across town at the shopping mall, or at our homeless shelters and jails and prisons, the world is teeming with millions of lost souls suffering with addictions who need to hear Gods Truth from someone who’s “been there, done that,” someone that they can relate to and trust. Someone just like you and I who’ve spent years under the influence of drugs and alcohol before we asked The Only One True Living God of The Bible, Jesus Christ, to set us free, and we became “free indeed”!

If you’re ready to move forward in your recovery, and answer Gods call for your service, I have written a new book titled Step 3 Addiction Recovery that was written specifically to help you in reaching others for Christ! It speaks to the hearts of the lost souls who have been mislead in Step 3 to believe that there is more than one God to choose from to deliver them from their addictions. It shows them how they will continue to relapse over and over again until they choose Jesus Christ as their Savior, who can “set them free” from the bondage of their addictions. As Christians involved in addiction recovery, we know that this one simple Truth will lead them to sobriety and Salvation!

Step 3 Addiction Recovery is a tool that every good “fisher of men”  should keep in their tackle box, next to their Bible, and use and share often!

May we continue to work together serving The Lord, while sharing His Love with the lost, anxiously waiting to hear His Words in, Matthew 25:21 (KJV) His lord said unto him, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

Amen

THE FOUNDATION OF ADDICTION RECOVERY

The 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous has been the foundation of all addiction recovery programs around the world for nearly 7 decades! It attracts millions of loyal members to meetings in every city and town everyday. While millions of alcoholics and addicts have found sobriety in its meetings, millions more spend years and years relapsing over and over again, until they either quit and give up, or die, or become so depressed or unhealthy they wish they would, and many commit suicide! Many more end up homeless or in prisons or in other institutions with mental health issues.

It is this author’s opinion, and has been for the past 32 years that I’ve been clean and sober, that the millions of alcoholics and addicts who fail the program, do so because of a very dangerous, even fatal flaw in the last part of Step 3! The first part is absolutely correct in stating that "we must turn our wills and lives over to the care of God", but not to a "god of our understanding"! AA, while professing to the world that they are of a Christian background or foundation, (The Oxford Group), and then suggesting in step 3 that there are many gods to choose from, is pure heresy! Even the least experienced atheist knows what God says about His  Sovereignty, Exodus 20:3 (KJV) Thou shalt have no other gods before me. It is well known throughout the AA community that most of its members who fail the program, do so in step 3. They even refer to its commonality as the 1-2-3-step-relapse dance!

Until AA addresses this issue, and leads its members to The truth that there is “but One God,” to turn their lives and wills over to, there will continue to be millions of alcoholics and addicts who finally conquer their battle with denial, only to be led astray when they arrive at a 12 step meeting or program, and led to believe that an undefined, imaginary, powerless “god of their understanding” will answer their prayers and deliver them from their addictions!

Until AA does decide to address this issue, assuming that someday they might, it is going to be my mission to do all I can do to share God’s Truth with those who are not getting it in AA meetings. As a Christian, delivered from my sin and addictions 32 years ago only by God’s Love, according to His Word, by Grace Alone, through Faith Alone, and in Christ Alone, I feel God’s calling to “be a fisher of man” and to “follow” and “obey” Him !

There are many members of AA who claim to be Christians. If you are one of them, than you should know that Gods Word does not support the idea that a man can make up “a god of his own understanding”, but that there is only “ONE GOD,” and that any attempt to follow any other imaginary, false gods will be in vain! There are no other “gods” who can answer prayer and perform the miracles that are necessary to “set free”  alcoholics and addicts from their addictions! If you are one of the many Christians attending AA meetings, you are instructed by God in   Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) to, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” And in Matthew 16:24 (KJV), then said Jesus unto his disciples, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” And in John 14:15 (KJV)  “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” These simple instructions should leave little doubt about what God would have us do when confronted with those sitting next to us in a meeting who do not know which direction to turn when they reach Step 3!

Good fishermen know the fish, know the waters, and know what bait to use! To be a successful “fisher of men” we must know no less! Recovered alcoholics and addicts should know the fish, know the waters, and know the bait better than anyone else! Most recovered alcoholics and addicts should recognize the dark, murky waters of AA meetings that are overflowing with alcoholics and addicts and lost souls struggling with addictions. A recovered Christian sitting in an AA meeting should recognize the unique position God has placed them in to reach out to one of those lost souls with The Truth that “set you free”!

If you’re ready to move forward in your recovery, and answer Gods call for your service, I have written a new book titled Step 3 Addiction Recovery that was written specifically to help you in reaching others for Christ! If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired of one relapse after another, it's clearly time to re-evaluate any past choice you made in step 3 and reach out to Jesus Christ! The simple act of making the right choice in Step 3 will "make your last relapse, your last relapse"!

WHY CAN’T ADDICTIONS BE STOPPED?

WHY CAN’T ADDICTIONS BE STOPPED?

For the sake of your sobriety, choose the One True Living God to surrender to, not some undefined, convenient god of your imagination!

You can pray all day long to some false idol, and all you will hear back is an echo! It will be no more productive than talking to yourself! AA has been falsely teaching for decades that they are of Christian origination, and also falsely teach in step 3 that you can worship any undefined god of your understanding! This is pure blasphemy!

All the money spent, all the psychology and counseling degrees, all the 12-step programs, all the worldly advice that come with those programs, all the group homes and treatment facilities, all of the broken and destroyed hearts, homes, families, careers, and relationships, all of the jail and prison sentences, all of the death and mayhem that are directly related to addictions to drugs and alcohol, will NEVER end the grip that addictions have on our society, and the multitude of negative consequences that they produce. Addictions , and their curse on society have only increased exponentially over the past century in spite of all of man’s futile efforts to conquer and overcome them! For each of the few who have managed to find and maintain some degree of sobriety, there have been hundreds more to fill their shoes. For each of the few who have managed to find and maintain some degree of sobriety, there have been hundreds who have taken their addictions to their graves!

The fortunate few who have managed to find and maintain some degree of sobriety should easily recognize the miracle that’s transpired in their lives, and understand that miracles only come from The One True Living God! Our Creator, who sacrificed His Son on The Cross, that we might be Saved and have Eternal Life with Him!

If you’re one of the many who wonder why addictions are so common in the world today, and have become such a blight on our society, the answer is really quite simple.

While there are thousands of variations of 12-step addiction recovery programs being used in thousands of group homes and facilities to “treat” hundreds of thousands of victims, all of these programs refer to an undefined “higher power,” or god of their own understanding, as the God they should be seeking for help and deliverance from their addictions. According to the One True Living God of all Christian faiths and denominations, “You shall have no other gods before me”. (Exodus 20:3) or, “For thou shalt worship no other god,” (Exodus 34:14) or, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). ALL others are false idols!

As long as men, whether in addiction recovery programs, or any falsely led and misguided churches, seek to worship false idols, and rely on them for answers to prayers for help and deliverance from their addictions or any other troubles in their lives, they will ultimately fail. And do so miserably! A perfect example of failing and losing the so-called “war on drugs,” is the fact that instead of any forward progress, this country is moving backwards by the early onslaught of legalizing the use of them!

Another very simple reason man is losing the battle against drug and alcohol use and abuse, is again another example of man turning from, and ignoring Gods simple Truth, by convincing the world that their addictions are a disease, rather than sin, which is what God calls “drunkenness” throughout His Word. It’s like a counselor telling an addict that they should take a couple aspirin and call him in the morning! Or in more prolonged and serious cases of addictions, that they might need surgery or radiation treatments. It’s no different than telling a sinner he has the same cure for adultery. As preposterous as that sounds, AA has convinced the world that sin is a disease and can be treated as such. Yes, addictions, if left unattended will most likely lead to disease, and then death, just as sin leads to death if left unattended. But there is a very simple remedy for all sin, including drunkenness. Acknowledging that there is but One true and Living God, and surrendering your life and will to His care. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to the Cross to pay for your sin, and provide you a way to be set free from it by simply asking Him to forgive you, and repenting from its death grip on you.

All of the world’s addiction recovery programs admit that an addict must surrender their lives to “a” god. Where they fail the millions of addicts who are desperately seeking sobriety, is by failing to direct them to the only God who can save them! The same God who created them, and Loves them, and wants them to Love Him! It’s not complicated folks, God’s Word is The Truth, and The Truth will set you free as fast as you can accept it! Be Born Again! Be Saved and Sober!

Before man will ever have a chance at genuine true addiction recovery, the church must learn to teach the Truth! The Church needs to teach The Gospel of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone must be proclaimed to those lost in the sin of addiction and alcoholism, with faith in the Lord and the sufficiency and authority of His Word. Man can’t be expected to defeat the battle with satan over his sin unless The Church equips him with The Truth! Instead we find most churches today proclaiming man’s word as sufficient in defeating sin, or simply tolerating it in fear of hurting someone’s feelings.

MANS WORD OR GODS WORD ?

MANS WORD OR GODS WORD ?
The sinner who struggles with drug and alcohol addiction and professes to be a Christian, is NOT reading and studying their Bible, God’s Holy Word, His Truth which was written for only one reason. For God to communicate with us, and guide us towards living our lives according to His plan and will for our lives. NOWHERES in His Word does it suggest we should continue living in sin! NOWHERES in His Word does it suggest we should continue to be drunkards! NOWHERES in His Word does it suggest we should continue making excuses based on scripture such as; “we're all sinners”! Instead, throughout His Word we are instructed quite clearly, that we are to repent from our sin and turn to and follow His Son, Jesus, if we are to be Saved and have Eternal Life with Him! Period! Many men, false teachers, have been misleading drunkards and other sinners to believe that they have a disease, or that they can justify their sinful behavior by using scripture out of context. Yes, we all began life as sinners, destined for eternal damnation, unless we choose to read His Word, follow His instructions, and repent of our sin. Until people open and read their Bibles, and ask God for discernment, they will never understand its contents! Do not ask man for discernment, but ask God for HIS! Most men are evil and corrupt and guilty of false teaching, whether intentionally or through their own ignorance of the Truth, it doesn’t matter! Don't trust me! Trust God!

Oswald Chambers summed it up well here in this devotional, but don't take his word for it, but seek the Truth directly from The Author! Jesus is quite anxious to share it with you today, if you're ready to hear it,  accept it, and act upon it!

Are You Listening to God?         2 / 12 / 15

They said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die." —Exodus 20:19
We don’t consciously and deliberately disobey God— we simply don’t listen to Him. God has given His commands to us, but we pay no attention to them— not because of willful disobedience, but because we do not truly love and respect Him. “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). Once we realize we have constantly been showing disrespect to God, we will be filled with shame and humiliation for ignoring Him.
“You speak with us,…but let not God speak with us….” We show how little love we have for God by preferring to listen to His servants rather than to Him. We like to listen to personal testimonies, but we don’t want God Himself to speak to us. Why are we so terrified for God to speak to us? It is because we know that when God speaks we must either do what He asks or tell Him we will not obey. But if it is simply one of God’s servants speaking to us, we feel obedience is optional, not imperative. We respond by saying, “Well, that’s only your own idea, even though I don’t deny that what you said is probably God’s truth.”
Am I constantly humiliating God by ignoring Him, while He lovingly continues to treat me as His child? Once I finally do hear Him, the humiliation I have heaped on Him returns to me. My response then becomes, “Lord, why was I so insensitive and obstinate?” This is always the result once we hear God. But our real delight in finally hearing Him is tempered with the shame we feel for having taken so long to do so.

ONE MUST REPENT TO BE SAVED AND SOBER

God’s very simple answer and solution for
Christians who are suffering with addictions.

John 8:31-36

“If you hold to my” teaching”…

 Not mans!...

31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. ”33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free? ”34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

I know no more than the next person. All I know I've learned from personal experience. I learned long ago that there is but one Truth, God’s Truth. Other than our own experiences in life, mixed with, and based upon God’s Truth, all other experience is irrelevant and is not worthy to be considered knowledge. The only worthy knowledge we have is that which God has allowed us to receive.

I spent almost 30 of the first 40 years of my life a reckless, selfish, hateful, useless drunk and addict! I’ve now spent every minute of the past 30 years since I became Saved and Sober, consciously seeking God’s Truth, and how it applied to my past, how it applies to the present, and how I might use that knowledge to share with others that it may benefit their future! I expect no one to read, listen, or agree with anything I say or write, except for those few who God directs to do so.

While satan is busy doing his job destroying lives by turning innocent victims into alcoholics and addicts, I’m busy serving God by sharing His Truth and exposing the enemies lies regarding addictions and God’s plan for recovery, which in His Kingdom is known and understood as Salvation, not recovery! Neither the word addiction nor recovery is a word found anywhere’s in God’s Word! That’s because addiction is sin, and recovery from it requires Salvation, not 12 steps!

A simple but very deadly fact about addictions, recovery, and relapse! Alcoholics and addicts will continue to live their daily lives in their recklessly dysfunctional and disoriented state of mind long after their last physical use of the drugs and alcohol of their choice. The hangovers and consequences last long after the headaches go away! There must be an extended and extensive period of time in complete sobriety before the dysfunctional, disoriented, state of mind, and thinking, and behavior begins to improve and change. Every individual requires more or less time than the next, and quite often relapse happens before there’s been enough time to fully recover. Sadly millions spend their lives in recovery, one relapse after another, never completely “recovered”! The AA, and other secular 12-step programs are a big reason for this dilemma, with its cliché, “keep coming back, it works,” and its myth that addiction is a disease; the truth is that if it worked, you wouldn’t need to keep going back! A person can “recover” from pneumonia, or a heart attack, or a broken arm, but you can’t “recover” from sin! We must repent, and ask God for forgiveness, and turn to Him and follow Him! Then, and not until then, can we be Saved and Sober!
