12 CHRISTIAN TRUTHS AND BIBLE STUDIES FOR ADDICTION
RECOVERY
The most powerful truth of all is to know that your
addiction recovery is in the hands of "The One True, Living, and Sovereign
God of the Bible"! His Word is The Truth, and a lamp unto
your feet, to use for guidance in your life! His Son, Jesus Christ died
on The Cross to save you from your addictions! The 12 steps of AA,
found in most addiction recovery programs today are filled with lies which can all be refuted in God’s Word!
TRUTH #1
Breaking through denial
Having
finally broken through the barrier of denial, and recognizing the need for help in
becoming sober and changing my life, and heard the calling of GOD, we've chosen
to surrender our lives and wills over to HIS care, through His Son Jesus
Christ, according to HIS Word. We recognize that we receive His power, and are no
longer powerless over alcohol when we choose "The One True Living God of the
Bible" in Step 3 of the secular 12 step programs. HIS Word clearly tells us that we are not
powerless if we are born again Christians, but receive HIS power when we
surrender our lives and will to HIM, as we read in: John 3:3,7,16, 1 Pet.1:3, 23, then In Acts 1:8, Jesus says, “But you will receive power when
the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in
all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Or in Philippians
4:13 we read, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth
me." Or Eph. 3: 14-21, "Out of his glorious riches he may strengthen
you with power through "His" spirit in "your inner being"
....18: you may have power .... that "You" may be filled to the
measure of all the fullness of GOD". God's Word is perfectly clear, we are
no longer powerless. We were powerless before surrendering our lives
and will to Christ, and became “Born Again”, and will remain powerless without
Christ in our lives! There are no powerless Christians, only those who answer
God’s definition of “Ye of little
Faith”! Also read Mat. 22:14,
Heb. 9:15, 1 Tim. 6:11-12, 2 Tim. 1:9, 1 Cor. 1:9, 2 Thes. 2:13-15, Rom.
