The Truth Rejected!

The Truth Rejected!

A Bible study for addiction recovery. A lesson
in rejecting God's Truth, and following
man’s lies, according to scripture.

The Truth has never been very popular amongst sinners.
The bearer of “Good News” is rarely welcomed,
even in the darkest times and places.

The Truth will be Rejected!
My Messages in Addiction Crucifixion Fellowships various formats are often rejected even by Christians who are suffering in the bondage of addictions because the Truth is rarely taught in churches today.Churches have been teaching feel good, name-it-and-claim-it, prosperity messages in order to build membership numbers and consequently their bank accounts.  It Seems they “can't see the forest for the trees.”

Galatians 4:16, "Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?"
2 Timothy 4:4, They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
2 Timothy 3:7, Always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.
Hebrews 10:26, If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
1 John 1:6, If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.
2 Thessalonians 2:10, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
Acts 20:30, Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

James 5:19-20, My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

Mark 7:9 (KJV), “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.”
Paul says in Romans 2:8,…"But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger." He also says in 1 Corinthians 4:14,… “I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.” And he goes on to say in 1 Thessalonians 4:7-9, “For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. 8 Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.” And God says in Ezekiel 3:17-19,…“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18 When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself. And in Ezekiel 33:9, He says, “But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.”

The messages of God’s Truth that I share in the various Addiction Crucifixion Fellowship Ministries, the website, the blog site  and the Facebook pages are often rejected, criticized, even condemned. The concept of being “Saved and Sober” in one simple step, “being Born Again,” (John 3:3), seems to be foreign to many people who have been brainwashed into believing that man’s secular 12-step addiction recovery programs are not only the best way to recovery, but are better than God’s way! While this ministries main focus and message is directed primarily towards a Christian audience, it seems to fall on deaf and mute ears and mouths most of the time. This sad but true commentary bear’s out the truth in Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:13-15,…“and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
People, it seems, including many professing Christians, are often unwilling to accept god's Truth as the Truth, because it’s rarely taught in today’s church, and consequently sounds foreign to them. The message taught in most churches today is a watered down, feel-good, name-it-and-claim-it prosperity message, a modern day version of the ancient Roman Catholic practices of indulgences,… buy and work your way to Heaven. There’s rarely a mention of the need for Grace, Obedience, Faith, or Repentance. There would be no “Mega” churches today if people thought they had to change their lifestyles and give up their precious sin to get to Heaven. The idea of obeying God or following Christ would empty most churches. There may be an occasional and casual reference to some Truth, whispered by some pastors, but it’s hidden in the veneer or façade of religious psycho-babble. It’s relevance to our Salvation is avoided so as to not drive away the flock.
The flock has been mislead over the years into believing that a few scriptures like 1 John 1: 8-10, or Romans 7: 14-20, justifies our sin. No scripture justifies our sin! Nothing justifies our sin. And yet most of our churches are condoning all sorts of sinful behavior today. Christ died on the Cross as a Sacrifice for our sin. He died in our place. And only by His Grace are we Saved, when we do fall short. Because of man's fall in the Garden we all became sinners by nature. Because He Loves us, God sent us His Son, (John 3:16) to be a Living Sacrifice for those of us who believe that He was Crucified and buried, that He has Risen from the grave and has ascended to the right hand of God in Heaven, and sent us the Holy Spirit as an advocate for us.
He did not die in vain as an excuse or a justification that we might  keep on sinning. He died as a Sacrificial Lamb “for” our sin! Anyone who believes that their sin is somehow justified in a few out of context verses, needs to read Romans 6 in as many translations and as often as necessary until God reveals His Truth to you on the issue. Satan doesn't want any of us to know this, or any other Truth! Satan wants to deceive us into  believing his lies and keep us in our sin so we can spend eternity with him, and not with God! That’s been satans plan since the Garden, and will be until Christ returns.
In addiction recovery for Christians, the simple choice is, do I believe satan, and the worlds failed way of recovery, or God, and His Truth, which will lead to being “Set free” from the bondage of sin? (John 8:31-36) The answer should be a simple one, but again, there has been so much false teaching in the church, that the Truth has been lost. And any person choosing not to live according to God's Truth is also lost. The choice is yours, choose God or satan, choose the Truth or the lie, choose sobriety and Salvation or addiction and sin.

Romans 2:8,  "But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger."
1 Corinthians 4:14, “I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:14, “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.”
Ezekiel 33:9,  “But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.”
Acts 20:31,  “So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”

Romans 6 NIV
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
6 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

Slaves to Righteousness

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
