January 16 .... Repentance

January 16

REPENTANCE…

Sadly, far too many of our Christian Churches today are filled with unrepentant sinners because false preachers welcome them in with open arms, but without an open Bible sharing The Gospel message of repentance! The definition of repentance is to turn away from sin and to dedicate oneself to the ministry of serving Jesus Christ! Many Christians struggle with addictions because their Churches use secular 12-step addiction recovery programs that are still teaching that addictions are a disease rather than the sin of drunkenness! The only way to eliminate the sin of drunkenness is to repent of it! To turn from it! Until we do, we can expect to relapse every time we face trials! And there will be many trials as long as we continue to grieve God with our un-repented sinful behavior! 2 Corinthians 12:21  (NIV)  I am afraid that when I come again my God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual sin and debauchery in which they have indulged.  Revelation 16:11 (NIV)  and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done. God offers us the free gift of Salvation and sobriety, but sobriety without Salvation renders alcoholics and addicts little more than the title of “dry drunks”. Salvation cannot be achieved without repentance! (Acts 3:19)  Genuine, relapse-free addiction recovery begins with repentance and leads to Eternal life with our Savior!

DAILY DEVOTIONALS

TODAYS DEVOTIONAL
IF YOU'RE SEEKING SOBRIETY,
"SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD"!

I
f you aren’t seeking God first in your life, don’t expect to be on the top of His prayer response list! He knows your Heart. If you’re not in a close personal relationship with His Son, Jesus, seeking to serve Him before yourself, He may keep you struggling with trials and temptations until you learn to trust Him in every aspect of your life. James 1:2 Trials and Temptations; “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds,”
I’ve met thousands of alcoholics and addicts in addiction recovery meetings who claim to know God, yet suffer relapses repeatedly. They claim to have found a “god of their own understanding” in step 3, yet refuse to surrender their lives to The One True Living God of The Bible, Jesus Christ, who is the only One who can answer prayers, and “set the captives free”! Luke 4:18 (NIV) “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,

The sooner we learn to surrender our lives completely to The One True Living God of The Bible, Jesus Christ, the sooner God can start using us to serve Him, and the sooner we will start reaping what we sow! Galatians 6:7 (KJV)  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
