f you aren’t seeking God
first in your life, don’t expect to be on the top of His prayer response list!
He knows your Heart. If you’re not in a close personal relationship with His
Son, Jesus, seeking to serve Him before yourself, He may keep you struggling
with trials and temptations until you learn to trust Him in every aspect of
your life. James
1:2 Trials and Temptations; “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a]
whenever you face trials of many kinds,”
I’ve met thousands of alcoholics and addicts in addiction
recovery meetings who claim to know God, yet suffer relapses repeatedly. They claim
to have found a “god of their own understanding” in step 3, yet refuse to surrender
their lives to The One True Living God of The Bible, Jesus Christ, who is the only
One who can answer prayers, and “set
the captives free”! Luke 4:18 (NIV) “The Spirit of the
Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the
poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of
sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,
The sooner we learn to surrender our lives completely
to The One True Living God of The Bible, Jesus Christ, the sooner God can start
using us to serve Him, and the sooner we will start reaping what we sow! Galatians
6:7 (KJV) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for
whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
